Welfare Fraud
On the 23 April 2013, the Midland Police Service commenced a fraud investigation.
The investigation revealed between 01 July 2012 and 28 February 2013, the suspect defrauded the County of Simcoe Ontario Works of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect provided Ontario Works false information of where he was residing while receiving financial assistance.

Fail To Comply With Sentence Or Disposition
On the 19th of May 2013 at approximately 1:56 am, the Midland Police Service responded to an intoxicated male unable to exit a taxi at a residence on the west side of town.
The investigation revealed the male youth was so intoxicated that he could not get out of the taxi. The youth was unresponsive. The youth was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Theft Under $5000 & Possession Of Stolen Property
On the 17 May 2013 at approximately 12:30 pm, police responded to a shoplifting call at a business located on the west side of Midland.
The investigation revealed the suspect removed a large quantity of items from the store and made no attempt to pay for them. A female suspect was arrested and transported to the Midland Police Service.

Breach Probation
On Friday May 17th 2013 the Midland Police Service received information that a man who is bound by probation condition – “not to be in the area of public parks” was walking through Little Lake Park with three young children in a wagon.
Officers attended Little Lake Park and located the man near the bathrooms by the volleyball area of the park.

Sexual Assault & Breach Probation
On the 16th of May 2013 at approximately 12:45 am., the Midland Police Service commenced an investigation into a sexual assault incident.
The investigation revealed the victim was watching a movie with the suspect. The victim fell asleep and awoke to being sexually assaulted by the suspect.

Criminal Harassment, Mischief, Trespass & Breach
On May 14th 2013 Midland Police Service responded to a residence on the east side of town for mischief in relation to a vehicle. The vehicle in question had glue poured all over it and obscenities written in the glue.
Investigation revealed that the victim’s ex-partner was the person who caused the mischief and has caused damage to her property in the past.

Threatening Death / Trespass By Night
On the 11 May 2013 at approximately 2:11 am., the Midland Police Service commenced an investigation into a threatening and trespass by night incident.
The investigation revealed a man had threatened another man and then attended his residence. The suspect left the victim’s house prior to police arrival.

Domestic Assault & Mischief
In the early hours of April 14th 2013, Midland Police Service were called to assist ambulance at an east end Midland home. Upon arrival it was determined that a man had injuries to his face as a result of falling outside. Subsequent investigation revealed that he and his common law wife had an argument which lead to her grabbing him and pushing him into a set of closet doors.

Domestic Violence Incident
In the early hours of the 12th of April 2013 Midland Police Service were called to a west end Midland home in relation to a disturbance. Upon arrival Police spoke with a man and woman who had been involved in the disturbance. Police learned that they have been dating for approximately a month.
